CO E-470
The E‑470 project represents a pioneering application of non‑potable water in Colorado’s transportation corridors. AquaSan developed the first plan to utilize treated effluent from regional wastewater treatment plants to irrigate the federal highway intersections along E‑470 that was historically undeveloped and faced significant water scarcity. By identifying and designing a system that safely and reliably delivers reclaimed water to landscape irrigation zones, AquaSan helped preserve valuable potable water supplies in a water short area while enabling the corridor’s long‑term growth. This innovative approach provided aesthetic benefits to the Denver area community, reduced demand on non renewable, water systems, lowered infrastructure costs, and established a sustainable model for future highway and regional development projects.

Interlocken
For the Interlocken development, AquaSan designed a comprehensive water‑management approach centered on the use of non‑potable water supplies to significantly reduce demand on the regional potable system. Through detailed Demand Profiling and hydraulic analysis, AquaSan identified opportunities to serve landscape irrigation, toilet flushing, and other non‑potable uses with alternative water sources. This strategy resulted in lowered peak potable demand but also reduced impact fees and long‑term operating costs for the developers. The result is a resilient, conservation‑focused water service plan that preserves valuable potable water resources while supporting the project’s aesthetic appeal and full operational needs.
